Sopapilla Cheesecake
Sopapilla Cheesecake combines layers of crescent roll dough with a creamy, sweetened cream cheese filling, topped with a cinnamon sugar and butter glaze. Baked until golden and slightly crispy on top, the dessert balances soft, creamy textures with a lightly crunchy topping. It is a sweet treat that works well for gatherings or a special dessert, served cooled to let flavors settle.
Ingredients
- 2 (8 ounce) crescent rolls refrigerated, tubes
- 2 (8 ounce) package cream cheese softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup butter melted
For the Cinnamon Sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350. Unroll and spread 1 can of crescent rolls on the bottom of an un-greased 9x13 pan.
- In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla. Spread mixture over the crescent rolls in the pan.
- Unroll and spread the remaining crescent rolls over the cream cheese mixture.
- In a small bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar. Spread melted butter over the top of the crescent rolls (you probably won't use the whole 1/4 cup) and and sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Optional: Lightly drizzle with honey.
- Cool to room temperature and serve. Refrigerate any leftovers.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep the layers fresh.
- The dessert is best eaten within a few days as it tends to be very popular and doesn't last long.
- Optionally drizzle honey over the baked cheesecake for added sweetness and a glossy finish before serving.
