Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds steak sirloin, strip loin, or ribeye
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
Marinade
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Combine marinade ingredients. Cut steak into bite sized pieces and add to marinade.
  2. Refrigerate 30 minutes or up to 2 hours. Remove from marinade allowing excess to drip off. (Discard remaining marinade).
  3. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon vegetable oil.
  4. Add steak in a single layer and cook 2-3 minutes without stirring to get a crust on one side. Stir and cook 1 minute more. Do not overcook.
  5. Remove from heat, toss with butter. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired. Serve immediately

Notes

  • Ensure excess marinade has dripped off of the steak or you won't get a nice crust.
  • Cook steak bites in batches if needed. If the pan is overcrowded, you won't get a good crust.
