Instructions

Make the Sangria

  1. Use a juicer (handheld or electric) to juice the grapefruit.
  2. Strain the grapefruit juice using a fine mesh strainer, then transfer to a pitcher.
  3. Pour the sauvignon blanc into the grapefruit juice.
  4. Add the simple syrup.
  5. Place the sliced fruit in the sangria, stir until combined and refrigerate for at least 10 hours.

Pour individual glasses of Sparkling Grapefruit Sangria

  1. In a white wine glass, measure in 6 oz. of the sangria.
  2. Top the sangria with 3 oz. of Sparkling Lemonade.
  3. Garnish with a thin grapefruit slice, and serve cold.

Notes

  • Chilling time is necessary, as the fruit will infuse in the sangria and give it a more powerful citrus flavor.
  • You can substitute regular grapefruit for the pink grapefruit. You may also substitute naval oranges and regular lemons for the blood oranges and Meyer lemons if you cannot find these in stores.
  • You can substitute another dry white wine for the sauvignon blanc. Choose one that’s not too oaky or sweet, as it could potentially overpower the light flavors of the grapefruit.
