Ingredients

  • 750 mL red wine bottle
  • 1 apple cored and chopped, Pink Lady variety
  • 1 orange quartered and sliced
  • ¼ cup orange liqueur (triple sec of Cointreau)
  • ¼ cup apple juice
  • 350 mL prosecco (or dry sparkling wine)

  1. In a glass container, combine wine, fruit, liqueur, and apple juice. Refrigerate a minimum of 1 hour, but at least 6 hours is recommended.
  2. To serve, pour sangria and a scoop of fruit into an ice-filled glass leaving room to float the bubbles. Top with about 2 ounces prosecco, depending on the size of your glass.

Notes

  • You can substitute sparkling water or sparkling apple cider for prosecco to reduce alcohol or alter sweetness.
  • Allow the wine and fruit mixture to chill for at least six hours to fully blend the flavors before adding the sparkling wine.
  • Use Pink Lady apples for a balanced tart and sweet flavor in the sangria.
