Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade
Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade blends fresh strawberries, lemon juice, and sweetener to create a chilled, fruity beverage with a refreshing balance of tartness and sweetness. The process involves making a strawberry-infused syrup that is then combined with fresh lemon juice and sparkling water for effervescence. This drink offers a vibrant pink color and a sparkling, slightly sweet-tart flavor, ideal for warm days or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar I used Natvia, or sugar alternative
- 1 cup water plus 3 cups sparkling mineral water
- 2 cups strawberry hulled and cut in half, fresh
- 1 cup lemon juice fresh, about 5-8 depending on size
Instructions
- In a small sauce pan combine 1 cup of the sweetener, 1 cup of water and strawberries. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the strawberries begin to release its juices. Remove from heat and cool.
- Once cool put in a blender and process until smooth. Add lemon juice to combine with strawberries. Strain (a couple of times) to remove seeds (optional), and transfer to a pitcher.
- Stir in remaining 3 cups of water. Fill cups with ice and enjoy!
Notes
- You can substitute still water for sparkling water and refrigerate the lemonade for later use.
- To make an alcoholic version, add a small amount of the strawberry lemonade mixture to champagne.
- Straining the strawberry puree multiple times helps remove seeds for a smoother drink.
