Spiced Almonds

Roasted Almonds with a chilli and Tamari flavour and just a hint of sweetness. You won't be able to stop eating them!

Ingredients

  • 200 g almonds blanched
  • 1 tbsp olive oil light
  • 1/8 tsp chilli powder hot
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 pinches salt flakes ground between your fingers
  • 10 g caster sugar
  • 1 tbsp tamari soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180⁰C.
  2. In a bowl mix together the oil, spices, salt and sugar.
  3. Add the almonds and coat well.
  4. Spread a layer of almonds over a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  5. Bake for 5 minutes on the top shelf of oven.
  6. Pour the Tamari over the nuts and toss well to coat.
  7. Bake for another 10 minutes turning the nuts halfway through the cooking time or until golden and dried out.
  8. Allow to cool on tray.
  9. Serve or will keep up to 3 days in an air tight container.
