- ½ cup (100 g/3 oz) light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
- ¼ teaspoon ground clove
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons (55 g/2 oz) unsalted butter cut into one-inch pieces
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup (113 g/4 oz) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 1 cup (200 g/7 oz) dark brown sugar
- ¼ cup (60 ml/2 fl oz) honey
- 4 large eggs at room temperature
- 1 cup (240 ml/8 fl oz) vegetable oil
- ¾ cup (180 ml/6 fl oz) unsweetened applesauce, at room temperature
