Spicy Black Bean Burgers with Avocado Cilantro Sauce
These Spicy Black Bean Burgers use seasoned veggie patties grilled or cooked as preferred, served on toasted buns with fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion. The creamy avocado cilantro sauce adds a fresh, tangy complement with hints of jalapeño heat and garlic, rounding out the flavors. The combination balances savory, spicy, and fresh elements for a satisfying plant-based sandwich.
Ingredients
- 4 MorningStar Farms® Spicy Black Bean Veggie Patties 1 pack
- 4 Buns toasted
- lettuce or greens of your choice
- 1 tomato sliced into rounds
- 1 onion sliced into rounds
For Creamy Avocado Sauce
- 1 avocado
- 1/4 cup cilantro
- 1/4 jalapeño
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/2 lime
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- For Creamy Avocado Sauce, add all ingredients to a food processor or blender. Blend till they combine well.
- Preheat grill to medium heat. Place burgers on the grill and cook about 5 minutes on each side, flipping once (cooking time may vary) Alternatively, cook in the oven, microwave or in a skillet according to package directions).
- Warm up the burger buns on the grill (or skillet).
- Assemble burgers: Put a spoon of creamy avocado sauce on the bottom bun. Top with lettuce, onion and tomato. Then place the burger patty and top again with a dollop of the avocado sauce. Finish by placing the top bun and enjoy!
