Steak salad with blue cheese, avocado and basil balsamic dressing

This steak salad combines tender grilled steak strips with creamy avocado, sharp blue cheese, and mixed greens, all tossed in a basil-infused balsamic dressing. The dressing’s balance of tangy vinegar, fresh basil, and garlic complements the rich flavors of the steak and blue cheese. Ingredients

For the basil balsamic dressing:
  • 2-3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar adjust based on your preference
  • 3-4 tablespoons olive oil adjust based on your preference
  • 1 garlic crushed, clove
  • 1 tablespoon basil chopped
  • black pepper to taste
  • salt to taste
For the steak salad:
  • 4 cups salad greens mixed
  • 1 avocado diced or sliced
  • ¼ cup red onion or 1/2 red onion - sliced, pickled
  • 1 steak cooked to your preference - sliced into strips, medium to large, grilled or seared
  • 4 ounces blue cheese can also use feta/goat cheese/queso fresco, crumbled
  • basil a few extra, chopped leaves

  1. To prepare the basil balsamic salad dressing, place the ingredients in a small bowl and whisk lightly. Can be made ahead of time, refrigerate until ready to use.
  2. To prepare the salad, place the salad greens in a salad bowl, add the diced avocado, red onion slices, steak strips, crumbled blue cheese, and the chopped basil.
  3. Sprinkle the balsamic dressing over the salad, toss and serve immediately.
