Ingredients
For the basil balsamic dressing:
- 2-3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar adjust based on your preference
- 3-4 tablespoons olive oil adjust based on your preference
- 1 garlic clove crushed
- 1 tablespoon chopped basil
- salt and pepper to taste
For the steak salad:
- 4 cups mixed salad greens
- 1 avocado diced or sliced
- ¼ cup pickled red onions or 1/2 red onion - sliced
- 1 medium to large grilled or seared steak cooked to your preference – sliced into strips
- 4 ounces crumbled blue cheese can also use feta/goat cheese/queso fresco
- A few extra chopped basil leaves
Instructions
- To prepare the basil balsamic salad dressing, place the ingredients in a small bowl and whisk lightly. Can be made ahead of time, refrigerate until ready to use.
- To prepare the salad, place the salad greens in a salad bowl, add the diced avocado, red onion slices, steak strips, crumbled blue cheese, and the chopped basil.
- Sprinkle the balsamic dressing over the salad, toss and serve immediately.
