Sticky Asian Chicken Wings

These deliciously addictive Sticky Asian Chicken Wings take wings to a whole new level with a homemade sweet, sticky and spicy glaze!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings cut into drummettes and flats
  • ⅓ cup sugar-free Keto honey
  • 3 tablespoons liquid aminos
  • 2 tablespoons sambal
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1 garlic clove grated
  • juice of ½ lime
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Optional: fresh cilantro and sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels. Mix the baking powder and salt together, then sprinkle the mixture over the wings, tossing them to coat each piece.
  3. Place the wings on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and a wire rack, then bake for 30 minutes.
  4. While the wings are baking, add the remaining ingredients into a saucepan and whisk to combine. Simmer for 5-8 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
  5. Remove the wings from the oven and baste each piece with the sauce. Bake 10 more minutes, then remove and baste with the remaining sauce.
  6. Bake for 5 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of at least 165°F when checked with a meat thermometer and serve with some chopped cilantro and sesame seeds on top.

Notes

  • These are spicy, so if you want them more mild, you can omit the Sriracha and even cut back a little on the Sambal. I recommend mixing up the sauce, taste it, then if you want more heat you can always add it.
  • If you don't have rice wine vinegar, you can substitute with white wine vinegar.
