Sticky Honey Soy Ham

Perfect sweet and spicy ham in a sticky soy honey glaze with sweet chili and Chinese Five Spice for a delicious, rich ham everyone loves!

Ingredients

  • 1 spiral ham about 9 pounds, bone-in, 6 pounds boneless
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup Sweet chili sauce
  • ¼ cup runny honey
  • 1 tablespoon Chinese five spice
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • sliced green onions to garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, sweet chili paste, Chinese five spice powder, and garlic powder until well combined.
  3. Place the ham in a large baking dish or roasting pan.
  4. Pour the soy honey mixture over the ham, making sure to coat it evenly.
  5. Cover the ham with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until heated through.
  6. Remove the foil and baste the ham with the sauce from the bottom of the pan.
  7. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce is sticky and caramelized.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the ham rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
  9. Garnish with chopped green onions and, optional, sesame seeds before serving.
