Stove Top Mac and Cheese

Stove Top Mac and Cheese is an easy recipe that is super creamy and extra cheesy.

Ingredients

  • 8 8 ounces elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 4 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 2 large eggs
  • 6 6 ounces heavy cream
  • 1 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ground pepper to taste
  • 3/4 3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 10 10 ounces freshly grated cheddar cheese (mild, medium, or sharp - see notes) (2 1/2 cups)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot of boiling, salted water cook the pasta to al dente and drain. Return to the cooked pasta to the pot and melt in the butter. Toss to coat.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, salt, pepper, and mustard. Stir into the pasta and add the cheese. Over low heat continue to stir for 3 minutes or until creamy and cheese is completely melted. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
