Strawberries Chantilly - A Delightful Spring dessert
Strawberries Chantilly is a layered dessert combining fresh strawberries macerated with sugar and a lightly sweetened vanilla whipped cream called Chantilly. The process calls for chilling the sugared strawberries while whipping heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form. These layers create a balance between the juicy fruit and rich, airy cream.
Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ⅓ cup powdered sugar 1/4 to 1/3 cup powder sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups strawberries
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Instructions
- Place in a large bowl the strawberries and sprinkle with sugar. Stir and let it rest covered in the refrigerator until ready to eat.
- Meanwhile, in a large bowl or the bowl of a KitchenAid with the whisk attachment, add the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Whisk at medium-high speed until soft peaks form.
- In a large glass place couple of tablespoons of Chantilly cream, a layer of strawberries, and a layer of Chantilly.
