Strawberry Banana Smoothie
This Strawberry Banana Smoothie blends frozen strawberries, fresh banana, milk or non-dairy milk, vanilla extract, honey, and Greek yogurt into a creamy and mildly sweet drink. The frozen fruit thickens the smoothie naturally, eliminating the need for added ice, while the yogurt adds body and a smooth texture.
Ingredients
- 2 cups strawberry frozen
- 1 banana peeled and sliced, fresh
- 2 cup milk non-dairy milk works too
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons honey if needed to sweeten, or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or plain, strawberry
- 1 cup ice optional
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and pulse until combined.
- If the smoothie is too thick, add more milk. If it is too thin, add more fruit, or you can also add ice if using.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Frozen fruit helps thicken the smoothie naturally and keeps it cold without diluting flavor as ice does.
- Use unsweetened Greek yogurt and avoid sweetened fruit or juice to control added sugars and maintain natural taste.
- For added thickness, consider incorporating chia seeds, oats, or nut butter.
- Frozen strawberries and bananas can be stored for over a year, offering a cost-effective way to keep smoothie ingredients available year-round.
