Prepare breakfast the night before by mixing up oats, strawberries and milk in a mason jar, then letting them hang out overnight to create these delicious Strawberry Overnight Oats. Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy OK)
  • 1 ½ cups strawberries frozen or fresh
  • 1 ½ cups rolled oats ¾ cup in each jar

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. In a blender, combine the milk and strawberries. Blend until smooth. (If it's not strawberry season and your strawberries are not super sweet, consider adding 1-2 teaspoons of maple syrup to this mixture to add a bit more sweetness.)
  2. Measure the rolled oats into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Pour the strawberry/milk mixture into the large bowl. Stir until all the ingredients have been incorporated.
  4. Transfer to mason jars, then cover, and refrigerate overnight.
  5. Enjoy cold the next morning, topped with fresh strawberries and additional toppings of your choice.

Notes

  • In these photos, I have used 8 oz. mason jars, which will turn this recipe into 4 servings instead of 2 large servings.
  • This recipe can be made with cow's milk or a non-dairy milk. Be sure to choose an unsweetened non-dairy milk if you go that route, as the strawberries add enough sweetness by themselves!
  • If it's not strawberry season, consider adding 1-2 teaspoons of pure maple syrup to the milk/strawberry mixture in the blender to add a little extra sweetness.
  • If you're feeling decadent, add toasted shredded coconut, toasted nuts or nut butter, or even a few dark chocolate chips to your overnight oats in the morning. You can add chopped strawberries or any other fruit you have on hand, too!
