Strawberry Watermelon Slush
This Strawberry Watermelon Slush blends frozen seedless watermelon cubes with fresh or frozen strawberries and lime juice into a refreshing, icy beverage. The natural sweetness of watermelon and strawberries creates a bright, fruity flavor balanced by the tart lime juice. The texture is a chilled, slightly chunky slush perfect for warm days. Optional fresh mint or basil can add herbal complexity.
Ingredients
- 2 cups watermelon frozen, seedless
- 1 1/3 cups strawberries (fresh or frozen)
- 2 Tbsp. lime juice about 1 juicy lime, fresh
Optional:
- ice fresh mint and basil
- mint
- basil
Instructions
- Prepare + freeze watermelon: Cube watermelon (rind removed) and place in freezer* for 2 hours or longer.
- When ready to make the slush, rinse and hull the strawberries. (Or simply use frozen strawberries.)
- Place frozen watermelon, strawberries, and fresh lime juice in blender. Blend until slushy and serve immediately.
Notes
- Freeze watermelon cubes spread out on a baking sheet to prevent sticking, and allow slight thawing before blending if frozen solid.
- If using fresh strawberries, adding a few ice cubes helps achieve a slushy texture.
- Lime juice can be swapped entirely or partially with lemon juice depending on preference.
- Sweetener like agave or coconut sugar may be added to taste if fruits are not very sweet.
- This mixture can be poured into popsicle molds and frozen for a frozen treat alternative.
