Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup light brown sugar packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips OR chunks
Instructions
- Get out and measure your ingredients.
- Prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper (or non-stick spray.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Add flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt to a mixing bowl.
- Whisk until combined (about 90 seconds).
- In a separate mixing bowl, add butter and sugar.
- Mix until fluffy.
- Add eggs and extract.
- Beat until well combined.
- Gradually add flour mixture to egg mixture.
- Until all flour is added.
- Blend until incorporated.
- Fold in the chocolate chips (or chunks).
- Stir until chocolate is well distributed throughout the dough.
- Scoop the dough into rounded heaping tablespoons, leaving about 2 inches between each one.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly, then move to cooling rack.
- Repeat until all dough is gone.
- Store in an airtight container until needed.

- A hand mixer is your best bet for properly creaming the butter and sugar.
