Sugar Cream Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 Pre baked pie crust
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • 4 Tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 2 1/4 cups whipping cream
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
Pie Topping
  • 4 Tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 Teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°.
  2. Mix the cornstarch with the sugar In a small bowl. Set aside
  3. In a medium saucepan on medium heat add the 4 tablespoons of butter and the whipping cream. Add the sugar and cornstarch mixture and stir constantly.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil stirring constantly until the mixture is really thick and bubbly. Add the vanilla.
  5. Pour mixture into crust and spread it out evenly.
  6. Mix the toppings for the pie in a separate small bowl. Spread out the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
  7. Bake for 25 - 30 minutes in the center of the oven.
  8. Turn on the broiler and broil for 1 minute to melt the sugars on top. Watching it carefully so it does not burn.
  9. Remove the pie from the oven,let it cool on the counter for 1 hour, then move it to the fridge to set further. Enjoy!
