Sukiyaki Sauce Recipe

Use this delicious sweetened soy sauce in the traditional way to stew meat and a variety of vegetables tableside. Or use it as a braising liquid, a dipping sauce or noodle seasoning.

Ingredients

  • ⅔ cup mirin
  • ⅔ cup sake
  • ⅔ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

  1. Place all of the ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and set it aside until needed. Or refrigerate the sukiyaki sauce in an airtight container for up to one month.

Notes

  • Mix 2 cups of sukiyaki sauce with 1 ½ cups of dashi broth to make the sukiyaki cooking liquid.
