Sumac Dressing
This Sumac Dressing combines fresh garlic, fragrant thyme, lemon juice, honey, and sumac with olive oil, resulting in a tangy, herbal vinaigrette. It's versatile as a salad dressing or a marinade, providing a citrusy, slightly tart flavor with earthy and floral notes from sumac and herbs.
Ingredients
- 1 garlic minced, clove
- 2 teaspoon thyme leaves plucked and minced, fresh
- 1 lemon juiced
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper fresh
- 2 tablespoon sumac
- ½ cup olive oil
Instructions
- Add all of the ingredients to a jar and shake until the dressing is well combined and emulsified. Serve it with any salad. If storing for later make sure to give it another good shake before serving.
Notes
- Shake well before each use to re-emulsify the dressing, especially after refrigeration.
- Store the dressing in the refrigerator and bring it to room temperature for 20-30 minutes before serving for best flavor and texture.
- Use as a marinade for grilled chicken by letting it sit overnight or at least 5-6 hours before cooking.
- The dressing pairs with any salad, bringing a tangy, herbal brightness.
