Super Easy Caramel Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Over medium low heat, mix the sugar, half-and-half, butter and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Cook while whisking gently for 5 to 7 minutes, until it gets thicker.
  3.  Add the vanilla and cook another minute to thicken further. 
  4. Remove from heat, let cool slightly then pour the sauce into a jar. Refrigerate until cold, at least 10 minutes.
