Sweet Pusit Adobo

This is the favorite ulam of my kids. I always cook this for them if I get fresh squid in the market. They like to partner this with ginataang langka. I hope that you enjoy this recipe that I am sharing.

Ingredients

  • 1 kilo 2.2 pounds small squid
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tomato chopped
  • 1 onion sliced onion, small sibuyas
  • 5 bay leaf dried bay leaves, dahon ng laurel
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce soy sauce, toyo
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar vinegar, sukang puti
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • neutral cooking oil generic cooking oil
  • salt
  • black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat the cooking oil.
  2. Add the garlic, onion, and tomato. Cook it for 3 minutes.
  3. Add water, laurel, and soy sauce. Boil
  4. Add squid. Cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add sugar and vinegar. Wait for it to boil.
  6. Put salt and pepper.
  7. Serve with rice.
