Ingredients

Meatballs
  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 8 shitake mushrooms
  • 2 shallots
  • 2 Tablespoon fish sauce
  • 2 Tablespoon tomato paste
  • salt & pepper to taste
Sweet & Sour Sauce
  • 1 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 4 teaspoon spicy mustard
  • 2/3 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/2 cup worcester sauce
  • 2 Tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F.
  2. To make the meatballs dice the mushrooms and shallots finely.
  3. Combine them with the remaining meatball ingredients and mix well.
  4. Form the meat into 1 inch balls and place on a rack on a tray.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
  6. To make the sauce combine all the ingredients in a sauce pan and cook for 10 minutes. Add the meatballs when they are done and mix gently.
  7. Cook the sauce and meatballs together for another 5 minutes.
