Sweetcorn Chaat

Ingredients

  • 200 g sweetcorn
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomatoes
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • ½ tsp crushed chillies
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp green chutney
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp tamarind chutney (Imli)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Coriander

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. If using fresh corn, then bring a large pot of salted water to a boil then add the corn and allow to simmer for five minutes until cooked through (see note 1)
  2. Drain the corn then allow to cool (see note 2)
  3. As the corn is cooling finely chop the onion, tomato and coriander then add into a large bowl
  4. Once the corn has cooled down add into the bowl along with the rest of the ingredients
  5. Stir it all together until well combined
  6. Serve as a quick snack and enjoy!

Notes

  • Note 1 - Do not boil for too long as the corn kernels can end up mushy and dry.
  • Note 2 - Alternatively, canned corn can be used. In this case, step 1 and 2 will not be required.
