Taco Bell Chipotle Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Duke’s brand recommended
  • 1 to 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lime juice

Instructions

  1. Place all the ingredients in a blender and puree for about 30 seconds.
  2. Refrigerate any leftover sauce in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Too Spicy? Add more sour cream and mayo in equal parts, a tablespoon at a time, until the heat level is to your liking.
  • Not Spicy Enough? Blend in an additional chipotle pepper or a teaspoon of the adobo sauce from the can.
  • Too Thick? Add a splash of water or lime juice and blend briefly.
  • Too Thin? Add a tablespoon of mayonnaise and blend to incorporate.
  • Sauce Separated? This is normal after refrigeration. Simply stir well before using.
