Ingredients

  • 1 package (10 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough or crescent roll dough
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese or Mexican blend cheese
  • ¼ cup ranch dressing
  • Optional toppings: chopped cilantro, diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, sour cream

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Cook the meat: In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Add seasoning: Stir in the taco seasoning and the amount of water called for in your taco seasoning packet. Simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  3. Prepare the dough: Preheat oven according to package directions for your dough. If using pizza dough, roll it out into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. If using crescent roll dough, unroll the dough and separate the triangles, then press the seams together to create a larger rectangle.
  4. Assemble the bites: Spread the cooked taco meat evenly over the dough. Sprinkle with the shredded cheese.
  5. Bake: Bake according to the package directions for your dough, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Drizzle with ranch: Let cool slightly, then cut into small squares or triangles. Drizzle with ranch dressing.
  7. Serve: Serve warm, topped with any desired toppings, such as chopped cilantro, diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, or sour cream.

Notes

  • Dough: You can use store-bought pizza dough or crescent roll dough, or you can make your own.
  • Meat: You can use ground beef, ground turkey, or even shredded chicken for the filling.
  • Cheese: Cheddar cheese or a Mexican blend cheese are good choices, but you can use any cheese that melts well.
  • Ranch Dressing: You can use store-bought ranch dressing or make your own.
  • Toppings: Get creative with your toppings! Salsa, guacamole, and olives are all delicious options.
  • Variations: For spicier bites, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or some chopped jalapeños to the meat filling.
