Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin ground
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika or smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • red pepper flakes optional, or cayenne pepper, pinch

  1. Mix all the spices together in a bowl. Use immediately or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • You can multiply the batch to make more and store it for up to one year in an airtight container.
  • Use about two tablespoons of this seasoning per pound of ground beef when cooking tacos.
  • Onion powder is omitted intentionally, assuming fresh onions are used in recipes; add if preferred.
