Tangy & Creamy Red Wine Vinaigrette
This Tangy & Creamy Red Wine Vinaigrette blends red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic, and extra virgin olive oil into a smooth dressing. The mustard seeds add texture and mild spiciness, making it a flavorful complement to fresh salads.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup red wine vinegar
- 2 Tablespoons Dijon mustard see note
- 1 ½ teaspoons mustard seed optional
- 2 cloves garlic minced or pressed
- ¼ teaspoon salt to taste, fine sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper to taste, freshly ground
- ¾ cup extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a jar and shake really well until emulsified. Be sure to taste test for salt levels. Or, whisk together in a bowl.
- Toss on a salad immediately before serving. Store leftover dressing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
Notes
- Reduce Dijon mustard to 1 tablespoon for a milder vinaigrette taste.
- Optional add-ins: honey for sweetness, dried herbs, fresh parsley, or shallot for varied flavors.
