Taro Fries (Air Fryer, Oven & Stovetop)

Taro Fries offer a crispy and tender alternative to regular fries using sliced taro roots seasoned simply or with optional spices. The recipe provides methods for air frying, baking, or pan-frying to suit equipment and preferences. Seasoning with oil, salt, and spices like Kashmiri chili and turmeric adds subtle warmth and color. The fries develop a golden crust with a soft interior through controlled cooking times and temperatures.

Notes

  • Use a vegetable peeler to peel taro smoothly; avoid washing peeled taro to prevent sliminess when cutting.
  • Wear gloves when handling raw taro to reduce skin irritation and avoid touching eyes.
  • You can customize seasoning by adding or omitting spices; simple salt and pepper work well.
  • Garlic powder is a good optional seasoning for added flavor if desired.
