Thai Basil Beef

Ingredients

For the Sauce
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Chili garlic sauce
For the stir fry
  • 2 TBSP canola oil
  • 1 lbs ground beef
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1.5 cups Thai basil leaves Use Holy basil if you can.

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together ingredients for sauce, set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a large sauté pan over medium high heat, until oil is hot.
  3. Add ground beef to pan, use a spatula to distribute it into an even layer, then press it down onto the pan with the back of the spatula.
  4. Allow to cook undisturbed on one side for 45-60 seconds. Flip and repeat on the other side.
  5. Add garlic, onion, bell pepper, stir fry one minute.
  6. Pour in the sauce and cook, stirring until everything is coated.
  7. Add basil and stir fry until beef is cooked and vegetables are tender, 2-5 minutes.
