The Best Apple Pancakes Recipe

Juicy grated apples melt into every bite of these classic buttermilk apple pancakes. They're sweet, fluffy, and sure to become your new breakfast staple!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 large apples
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Combine all of the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Peel the apples, then shred them using the large side of a grater.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk until smooth. Stir in the grated apples.
  4. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the buttermilk mixture until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the oil into a skillet and place over medium heat. Once hot, turn down the heat to medium-low and drop small amounts of pancake batter into the oil.
  6. Cook the pancakes on each side until golden brown, flipping once bubbles appear on top. In between each batch, add a little more oil to the skillet. Serve the pancakes while they are warm and still have crispy edges. Enjoy!
