The Best Baked Potatoes

The best baked potatoes are EASY to make! Use this simple recipe to get perfect baked potatoes every single time with minimal effort. Serve them simply, or load them up with your favorite toppings!

Ingredients

  • 4 Russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Optional Toppings
  • sour cream
  • green onions sliced
  • cheese cheddar, shredded
  • Bacon cooked, crumbled

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment or foil. 
  3. Wash potatoes thoroughly and place on the baking sheet. 
  4. Drizzle the potatoes with the olive oil and rub it in with your hand or a pastry brush. 
  5. Sprinkle both sides with salt. 
  6. Bake for 30-50 minutes, exact baking time will depend on the size of your potatoes and the number of potatoes you are baking (see note).
