Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened at room temperature
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- ½ cup white granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cup all purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy with a stand up mixer or hand held mixer.
- Mix in the eggs, one at a time, and vanilla extract until combined.
- In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the all purpose flour, baking soda and baking powder.
- Then gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture. Mix on a low speed until just combined. Be careful not to over mix or the cookies will be tough or flat.
- Then gently stir in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts by hand until combined.
- Place tablespoons of the dough onto a baking sheet using a cookie scoop.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cookies are slightly golden brown around the edges and just set.
- Let the cookies set on the baking sheet for 5 minutes and then move the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Then the cookies are ready to serve and enjoy!
