Traditional German Currywurst Recipe

This Currywurst recipe makes very flavorful and thick sauce for everyone who loves Currywurst. A video how to make Bratwurst in a pan is civered in a separate video on my YouTube channel (please find the link below).

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 onions medium
  • 500 ml sieved tomatoes
  • 100 ml broth
  • 30 g tomato pure
  • 1,5 tbsp sugar brown
  • 3 tsp paprika powder
  • 2 tbsp curry powder* if you don't have one see recipe below
  • 1 tsp Worcestersauce
  • salt, cayenne pepper
Curry Powder Recipe
  • 1 tsp Coriander
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp tumeric
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 1 pinch cayanne pepper
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Chop the onions into small pieces.
  2. Take a large pan and preheat the oil. As soon as it’s warm fry the onions until translucent.
  3. Add the chicken broth and sieved tomatoes. Bring it to a boil.
  4. Season with sugar, paprika and half of the curry powder, worcestersauce and salt. Let it simmer over small heat for 20 minutes.
  5. Add cayenne pepper if you like spicy!
  6. Serve warm with the rest of the curry powder on the top of a Bratwurst.
