Tuna Tartare
Tuna Tartare combines fresh, sushi-grade ahi tuna diced into uniform cubes and marinated in a bright mix of ginger, garlic, soy sauce, lime juice, sweet chili, and herbs. Layered with an avocado mixture seasoned with lime and scallions, this dish offers a tender texture and a balance of tangy, mildly spicy, and savory flavors. Notes
- Use fresh, sushi-grade ahi tuna to ensure safety and optimal flavor when serving raw.
- Limit marinating time to 20-30 minutes to avoid curing the tuna and altering its texture.
- Oil molds or bowls well before assembling the tartare to allow easy release and clean presentation.
- Serve the tartare chilled, with pita chips or cucumber rounds for added texture contrast.
- Consider variations with salmon or adding diced tropical fruits like mango for sweetness if desired.
