Vietnamese Omelette Recipe
This Vietnamese Omelette combines eggs with chopped onion, garlic, fish sauce, and fresh herbs for a savory and aromatic dish. The omelette is cooked gently with butter and finished with cilantro, resulting in a tender, flavorful egg preparation that pairs well with plain rice or noodles.
Ingredients
- 2 egg
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon fish sauce
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 spring onion
- cilantro optional
- 1 teaspoon butter optional
Instructions
- Chop onion and spring onions, and garlic.
- Combine all the ingredients except butter, garlic, and cilantro in a bowl.
- Wisk the egg mixture well.
- Heat butter in a non-stick pan.
- Fry garlic until slightly golden.
- Pour egg mixture and cook for a minute on low heat.
- Add fresh cilantro leaves and flip the omelette.
- Turn off the heat and cook for a minute
- Transfer to a plate, garnish and serve immediately.
Notes
- Add the salt carefully since fish sauce already contributes saltiness to the dish.
