Vietnamese Omelette Recipe

This Vietnamese Omelette combines eggs with chopped onion, garlic, fish sauce, and fresh herbs for a savory and aromatic dish. The omelette is cooked gently with butter and finished with cilantro, resulting in a tender, flavorful egg preparation that pairs well with plain rice or noodles.

Description

The Vietnamese Omelette Recipe starts by finely chopping onion, spring onion, and garlic. These are mixed with eggs, fish sauce, and salt, then whisked thoroughly to incorporate air and seasoning. Cooking begins with frying garlic in butter until lightly golden to release aroma, then pouring the egg mixture over low heat for gentle cooking and a tender texture.

Fresh cilantro leaves are added just before flipping the omelette to enhance aroma and flavor. Turning off the heat after flipping allows gentle residual cooking while keeping the omelette moist. The finished dish is served immediately to retain softness and subtle garlic fragrance.

This omelette’s combination of savory fish sauce and fresh herbs complements simple meals like steamed rice, making it a staple accompaniment in Vietnamese cuisine.
