Ingredients

  • 1 hibiscus tea bag
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 3/4 cup coconut milk (I used unsweetened, but you can also use sweetened, and lower the amount of simple syrup.)
  • 1 coop fresh blackberries (or freeze-dried whole blackberries)
  • Ice cubes
  • 1/2 teaspoon green coffee extract (this is optional, and it’ll add caffeine to your drink)
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup (or sugar. You can add more or less according to your personal taste.)

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Place the hibiscus tea bag in a cup and add hot water.
  2. (Optional) Add the green coffee extract to the tea. (You can skip this ingredient and it won’t affect the flavor.)
  3. Let the tea steep for 5 minutes and chill in the refrigerator.
  4. Add ice to a cocktail shaker, then pour in chilled hibiscus tea and coconut milk.
  5. Secure the lid. Hold the shaker with both hands (one on each end) and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds. (You can use a mason jar with a lid if you don’t have a shaker. Don’t skip this step, otherwise the coconut milk will curdle when mixed with acidic hibiscus tea.)
  6. Fill a glass halfway with blackberries and ice.
  7. Strain the mixture into the glass. Garnish with more blackberries.

Notes

  • If you use the green coffee bean pills, you’ll need to pop them open and use the powder from the capsules.
  • Serve the drink immediately, otherwise, the coconut milk will separate from the tea.
