Virgin mulled cranberry punch

Ingredients

  • 850 ml cranberry juice 1 carton, 2 cups, Ocean Spray Wholeberry
  • orange juice juice of 1 large orange
  • 80 ml agave syrup 1/3 cup, or to taste
  • orange peel of 1
  • 1 orange sliced thinly
  • 1 lemon sliced thinly
  • 2 cm fresh ginger peeled and thinly sliced, 1 inch piece
  • 2 cinnamon sticks small
  • 2 star anise
  • 3 cloves
  • cranberries optional, fresh, to garnish
  • orange peel optional, fresh, to garnish

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients to a saucepan and bring to a very gentle simmer.
  2. Stir for 5-7 minutes until hot. Turn off the heat and leave to cool slightly. Taste for sweetness - the juice is quite tart so you might need to add more agave syrup if you prefer your punch a little sweet.
  3. Strain to a jug or leave the spices in, if you prefer, as the taste will intensify.
  4. Serve warm, in mugs or glasses, garnished with cranberries threaded onto cocktail sticks and a strip of orange peel.

Notes

  • If you have any leftover punch, store in the fridge and heat in the microwave for 20-30 seconds before serving.
