Walnut Sage Pesto

Sage & Walnut Pesto is a deliciously different take on pesto and takes only 10 minutes to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh sage leaves
  • 1 cup fresh parsley
  • 3-4 cloves garlic
  • ½ cup toasted walnuts
  • 2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • zest of one lemon
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt or kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • ⅓ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, pulse sage and parsley leaves, garlic, walnuts, lemon juice and zest, salt and pepper until smooth.
  2. With motor running, slowly pour in olive oil.
  3. Turn off motor and stir in Parmesan cheese
  4. Store in the fridge for up to a week

Notes

  • Toast walnuts in a skillet over medium-low heat until fragrant, about 5 minutes, shaking the pan every couple of minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool before using in the recipe.
