Watermelon Sangria
Watermelon Sangria blends fresh watermelon juice with vodka, rosé wine, and orange juice for a refreshing summertime punch. The fruit juices balance the alcohol with bright citrus slices enhancing aroma and visual appeal. Chilling develops the flavors before serving over ice.
Ingredients
- 4 cups watermelon about a small watermelon, fresh chunks, seeds removed
- 1 cup vodka
- 1 cup orange juice fresh
- 1 rosé wine cold, bottle
- 1 orange sliced
- 1 lime sliced
Instructions
- Start by cutting the watermelon into chunks, removing any seeds. Place the watermelon chunks in a blender.
- Add ¼ cup vodka and blend on high until very smooth.
- Strain the juice through a mesh strainer into a large pitcher.
- Pour the wine, remaining of vodka, and orange juice into the pitcher. Add the orange and lime slices and mix well to combine. Chill for at least 4 hours before serving.
- When ready, pour the watermelon sangria into glasses over ice garnish with a slice of watermelon or a sprig of fresh mint if desired.
