Wendy's Copycat Chili

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 29 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 15 ounce can kidney beans (with liquid)
  • 30 ounce canned pinto beans (with liquid)
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 1 green pepper diced
  • 1 stalk celery diced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. 1. Brown ground beef in a large pot (I used my 7.25 qt Dutch oven) over medium heat.
  2. 2. Drain off the fat.
  3. 3. Combine the beef plus all the remaining ingredients, and bring to a simmer over low heat.
  4. 4. Cook, stirring every 15 minutes, for 2 to 3 hours.
