White Negroni Cocktail
The White Negroni Cocktail is a crisp and aromatic mixed drink made with gin, dry vermouth (Dolin), and an aromatized wine like Cocchi Americano or Lillet Blanc. Stirring with ice chills the cocktail and dilutes it slightly for balanced flavors. A lemon rind garnish adds subtle citrus aroma.
Ingredients
- 2 ounces gin like The Botanist, good quality
- 1 ounce Dolin vermouth dry vermouth
- ½ ounce Cocchi Americano or Lillet Blanc
- lemon rind swath
Instructions
- Set out a cocktail shaker, and fill with ice.
- Measure and pour in the gin, Dolin, and Cocchi Americano. Stir for 15 to 20 seconds. Do not shake.
- Strain into a lowball glass with an ice block, or into a coupe glass. Garnish with a lemon rind swash or a delicate lemon rind twist.
Notes
- This White Negroni is a variation of the classic cocktail, substituting sweet vermouth and Campari with dry vermouth and Cocchi Americano for a lighter taste.
- Use good quality gin for the best flavor, such as The Botanist.
- Stirring rather than shaking preserves the clarity and smooth texture of the cocktail.
- Garnish with a lemon rind swath or twist to enhance the drink's citrus aroma.
