White Negroni Cocktail

The White Negroni Cocktail is a crisp and aromatic mixed drink made with gin, dry vermouth (Dolin), and an aromatized wine like Cocchi Americano or Lillet Blanc. Stirring with ice chills the cocktail and dilutes it slightly for balanced flavors. A lemon rind garnish adds subtle citrus aroma.

Description

This cocktail is prepared by stirring measured amounts of quality gin, Dolin dry vermouth, and Cocchi Americano over ice for 15 to 20 seconds, ensuring the drink is well chilled without shaking. It is then strained into a glass—either a lowball with a large ice block or a coupe glass—and garnished with a swath or twist of lemon rind. The combination delivers a lighter, gentler alternative to the classic Negroni, using dry vermouth and aromatized wine instead of sweet vermouth and Campari.

It is served as a neat aperitif that showcases botanical notes from the gin and subtle bitterness balanced by citrus and herbal components. The lemon rind enhances the aromatic experience.

Classic Negroni uses Campari and sweet vermouth, while the Negroni Sbagliato replaces gin with prosecco; this White Negroni variation offers a distinct flavor profile focusing on dry and floral elements.

  • Stirring rather than shaking preserves the clarity and smooth texture of the cocktail.
  • Garnish with a lemon rind swath or twist to enhance the drink's citrus aroma.
