Whole Chicken in Crock-Pot

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken about 4-5 pounds, giblets removed
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 large onion quartered
  • 4 cloves garlic peeled

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken by removing any giblets, and pat it dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, black pepper, and kosher salt.
  3. Rub the seasoning mix all over the chicken, including inside the cavity. Place the quartered onion and garlic cloves inside the cavity.
  4. Place the seasoned chicken in the Crock-Pot. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the Crock-Pot and let it rest for a few minutes before carving. Serve warm.
