Yema Spread

This creamy and silky Yema spread is super easy to make and requires only 5 simple ingredients. Perfect spread for pandesal or toast. You can even use it as frosting for cakes or cupcakes.

Ingredients

  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1 can condensed milk 300ml
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon butter unsalted
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine egg yolks and condensed milk in a pan or wok.
  2. Turn on heat to medium. Stir the mixture with spatula or wooden spoon to prevent from sticking to the pan.
  3. Cook until it thickens, but not too thick. It will go thicken more as it cools down.
  4. Add the butter and salt and mix until it becomes smooth and shiny.
  5. Turn heat off and add the vanilla extract and mix.
  6. Let it cool down a bit then transfer to glass jars.
