Yum Yum Sauce
Yum Yum Sauce is a creamy condiment blending mayonnaise, tomato paste, vinegar, sugar, spices, and melted butter into a smooth, slightly tangy sauce with a light pink color. It’s often served alongside grilled or fried dishes to add a balanced richness and subtle smoky flavor.

- 1 1/2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon butter melted
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons water or more if needed
Instructions
- Place all of the ingredients in a medium bowl.
- Whisk until well combined. You can add more water, 1 teaspoon at a time, if needed to reach your desired consistency.
- Serve immediately, or transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for later use.
Notes
- Tomato paste provides depth and the pink color; ketchup can substitute if unavailable.
- Use Japanese mayonnaise like Kewpie for an authentic flavor, though regular mayo works as well.
- Store the sauce refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
