Za'atar Seasoning

A traditional Middle Eastern spice, this Za'atar seasoning is herby, nutty, and savory. The sesame seeds give a little texture, and make this seasoning perfect for rubs, marinades, or as a topping on your hummus!

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons sumac
  • 3 tablespoons dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds, toasted
  • 2 tablespoons dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander
  • 1 teaspoon marjoram
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. In a small sauce pan, toast the sesame seeds for 1 to 2 minutes over medium heat. Toast until slightly golden, then cool the sesame seeds before mixing with the other spices.
  2. Add all of the ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until combined .
  3. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
