Searching for recipes is simple and efficient. You can use multiple search forms available throughout the website to find the perfect recipe based on your preferences.

Where Can You Search for Recipes?

You can find a search form in the following locations:

  • Homepage
  • Recipes Page (all recipes)
  • Single Recipe Page
  • Browse by Course Page
  • Browse by Cuisine Page

How to Search

  1. Enter a keyword in the search bar. You can search using:

    • A recipe name (e.g., "Spaghetti Carbonara").

    • An ingredient (e.g., "chicken").

    • A description (e.g., "quick and easy dinner").

  2. Browse the search results based on your keyword input.

  3. Apply filters to refine your search.

Filtering and Sorting Search Results

After performing a search, you can filter the results based on:

  • Courses (e.g., Appetizers, Main Dishes, Desserts, etc.).
  • Cuisines (e.g., Mediterranean, Asian-American Fusion, etc.).
  • Star Rating (filter recipes based on user ratings).
  • Time Duration (limit search results to recipes within a certain preparation/cooking time).

Additionally, you can sort the search results by:

  • Highest Rating – Displays the recipes with the best ratings first.
  • Most Popular – Shows recipes that have been viewed or saved the most.
  • Most Recent – Lists newly added recipes at the top.
  • Oldest – Displays the earliest submitted recipes first.

Special Considerations for Course and Cuisine Pages

When searching within the Browse by Course Page, the results will be limited to that course. For example:

  • If you are browsing Appetizers, your search results will only display appetizer recipes.
  • You can filter by cuisine, but not by course (since it's already selected).

Similarly, when searching within the Browse by Cuisine Page, results will be limited to that cuisine. You can filter by course, but not by cuisine (since it's already chosen).

If you want to filter results by both course and cuisine, use the search form in the Homepage, All Recipes Page, or Single Recipe Page for broader filtering options.
